Annual Report 2011 on the European Community’s Development
and External Assistance Policies and their Implementation in 2010

Eradicating poverty remains at the heart of EU efforts. This report stands to prove it. Its objective is to increase transparency about Community’s external policies. The report highlights how 2010 was a key year in development cooperation: global leaders renewed their commitment to the Millennium Development Goals and the EU initiated important policy reform. Europe confirmed its position as the biggest donor of aid, reaching a record of €53.8 billion.
