TAP in gas pipeline talks between Italy, Greece and Albania

Brussels, July 19 – The Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) group is working on “high level” accord between “Italy, Greece and Albania”, TAP’s communications director Michael Hoffmann announced in Brussels Thursday.

“We are also working with the Italian government,” Hoffmann said. “And we must act as a team. The project is at an advanced stage, and now must progress with a high level accord – first an inter-ministerial agreement, then an inter-governmental agreement among the three countries involved in the project.” The competition between TAP and Nabucco West, the two remaining contenders for building the Southern Gas Corridor from the Shah Deniz gas fields in Azerbaijan through southern Europe, will come to a close mid-2013.

Bruxelles, le 19 Juillet – Le groupe Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) travaille sur  un accord de “haut niveau”entre “l’Italie, la Grèce et l’Albanie”, a annoncé  jeudi  à Bruxelles Michael Hoffmann directeur des communications deTAP.

“Nous travaillons également avec le gouvernement italien,” a dit Hoffmann. “Et nous devons agir comme une équipe Le projet est à un stade avancé, et il doit maintenant progresser avec un accord de haut niveau. D’abord un accord inter-ministériel, puis un accord inter-gouvernemental entre les trois pays impliqués dans le projet”. La concurrence entre TAP et Nabucco West, les deux prétendants restants pour la construction du couloir de gaz au Sud à partir des champs de gaz de Shah Deniz en Azerbaïdjan en Europe méridionale, s’achèvera mi-2013.
