Lebanon: EU puts focus on gender equality in a series of autumn university debates 620 330 Euro Mediter

The Delegation of the European Union to Lebanon, in cooperation with the Beirut Arab University (BAU), organised a debate on Women’s Rights – Challenges and Opportunities to Gender Equality in Lebanon on the 3rd of December in Beirut.

during the debate, students and the wider public an opportunity discussed topics such as political participation, passing of nationality, gender based violence, discrimination, etc. with a number of experts presenting different perspectives.

The debate was held within the framework of an autumn series of university debates organised by the Delegation on the topic of Human Rights and Democracy, where students and the public are invited to engage in discussions with Ambassadors of EU Member States, Lebanese officials, civil society representatives and professors.
