EU encourages the development of high-quality media in Libya 620 330 Euro Mediter

The media project co-funded by the European Union, entitled “Media in Libya – Stability through Structure”, was presented Tripoli on 29 of March 2014. With a budget of €3 million, the project aims at consolidating the state of democratic reform and institution building in Libya by supporting the emergence of a free, high-quality press and media, thereby enhancing the context for political development, in particular through the constitutional process.
The media project is a joint project of the EU Delegation to Libya, DW Akademie and IWPR (Institute for War and Peace Reporting). It is composed of four clusters, namely: media governance and regulatory framework, public media transition scheme, journalism independence initiative and Libyan content development fund.
